Voting Question: Could this be a Picasso?
I have found a small painting on what appears to be paper. It is signed picasso in red and underlined. I’ve located this painting in an old antique store in north texas. It has a very interesting frame and has the tag of a art store called Attic Arts in Oklahoma City on the back. It is says the artist is Picasso and the painting is titled Artist At Work. I purchased a book on Picasso’s work and to my amazement found not the same painting but the same man in the painting turned in the opposite direction. The painting from the catalog was done in 1965 and the store in Oklahoma no longer exist. The painting at the antique store is water damaged and the owner said she bought it from her neighbors estate after she passed and that it was water damaged at her home from a roof leak. I asked if she thought it could potentially bed a real Picasso and she said she had no idea. The painting appears to be on paper but when you look at it through a magnifier glass you can see little dots similar to how a canvas looks. Whoever painted definitely painted in one of picasso’s styles. Any ideas?
